Layers and groups
The Layers panel lists everything in the scene, the front layer at the top. Rename layers, change their order, group them, and hide or lock them to keep them out of the way.
Step by step
Rename a layer
The snowman's head is selected, and it is still called Circle. Click its name at the top of the inspector, type Head and press Enter. Double-clicking a name in the Layers panel renames it too.
Bring the scarf forward
The scarf is behind the body. Click Scarf in the Layers panel, then Move layer up, the first button of the panel's top bar: the scarf moves above the body, in the list and on the canvas.
Select the whole snowman
Drag a box on the canvas from an empty spot of the sky across the snowman. It selects every layer it touches; the sky and the snow are locked, so they stay out of it.
Group them
Click Group in the Layers panel's top bar, or press Ctrl G. The four layers go into one group, which moves, turns and fades as one.
Lock the group
Click the padlock on the group's row. A locked layer can't be picked or moved on the canvas; the eye beside the padlock hides a layer.
