Scale bone tool
The Scale bone tool stretches and squashes a bone, keyed at the playhead. The artwork attached to the bone scales with it; a bone chained on its tip follows the tip without being stretched.
The flower's stem stretches up and gets thinner in 1.5 seconds, carrying the flower, then holds and starts over. This one is the real exported SVG, playing.
Step by step
Select the stem's bone
With the Select tool, click Bone 1, the bone along the stem. The inspector shows its Transforms and its Bone section.
Start a Scale track
Click beside Scale in Transforms. Scale gets its own row on the timeline, with a keyframe at 0s at 100%.
Move the playhead to 1.5s
Drag the red playhead along the time ruler to 1.5s.
Pick the Scale bone tool
Press S. The Scale bone tool is in the bones button of the tools on the left. A bar above the canvas picks what a drag changes: Length along the bone, Thickness across it, Linked for both, or Squash & stretch.
Pick Squash & stretch
Click Squash & stretch in the bar above the canvas. A bone that gets longer now gets thinner too, keeping its area; the Volume menu beside it can keep a tube's volume instead.
Stretch the stem
Drag Bone 1 upwards, along its length. The stem and the leaf stretch and thin, keyed at 1.5s; the flower rides up on the tip without being stretched, as Bone 2's Inherit scale is off.
Play it
Press Space. The stem stretches until 1.5s, holds until the end of the 3-second animation and starts over.
